Most of my fragrances are gifts from my mother-in-law and my first bottle of Angel came from her too.
Even if I didn’t like the scent of Angel, which I love, the bottle alone is sublime. It looks like a blue, five star diamond cut from a block of ice and it makes my vanity look amazing, not to mention how amazing I smell when I wear this fragrance!
Angel was introduced in 1992 by French fashion designer, Thierry Mugler, as his very first perfume. He wanted to create a scent that recreated that love you feel for a child, something so sensuous that it makes you feel like wrapping your arms around the person you love! In doing so, he shook the sterile code of perfumery with this scent that is pure fantasy. It became big news and critics everywhere said it, “awoke the sleepy femme fatale within”. The notes are bewitching, charming and disconcerting with flavors of bergamot, red berries, vanilla, praline, caramel and patchouli.
As for that magnificent jewel of a bottle — well, it was a technological challenge that took over two years in development, but Brosse Master Glassmakers succeeded in its production. A star is Thierry Mugler’s favorite symbol and he was determined to put his first fragrance in this bottle.
Allure magazine named Angel the winner of it’s “Best Classic Fragrance” this year, 2013. When you try it, be prepared for the scent to be quite strong one minute, and then subtly demure the next. It’s absolutely intoxicating! You will want to bathe in it, I assure you.
