Who can forget the ubiquitous images of Isabella Rossellini in Lancome advertisements in the 80’s and 90’s?
I certainly can’t because I happened to work for Lancome during a portion of her reign as the international face of Lancome. When I was a student at UCLA one of my part-time jobs was selling Lancome cosmetics at a department store across the street from campus. While my co-workers concentrated on selling the very expensive jars of creams, I was convinced I could reach my sales goals by simply selling a bunch of eye makeup removers. Sure enough, I did.
Lancome’s Bi-Facil Double-Action eye makeup remover is so popular among makeup enthusiasts because it effectively removes even water-proof makeup and never stings. It’s Allure Magazine’s winner of their “Best of Beauty” award and has established a cult following throughout the years.
Lancome was founded in 1935 in Paris and the name was inspired by castle ruins surrounded by roses. These roses inspired the company’s symbol of a single golden rose. My inspiration was the flawless beauty of Isabella and I only hoped to age as gracefully.
Surely this product is already in your arsenal, but just in case you haven’t tried it, here’s how to join the cult:
