I discovered Philosophy for the first time when I received the cinnamon shower gel as a gift.
Many of you may have seen Philosophy products in department stores and perhaps have been interested by the curious sayings on the packaging; I could spend hours reading each of the boxes, jars and bottles! Surprisingly, they’re not flashy or sparkly at all, but rather quite simplistic. Each product provides inspiring text to encourage personal reflection and each quote will put a smile on your face.
Cristina Carlino founded the company in 1996, after thirty years in the cosmetic industry, with the idea that taking care of your skin helps you in the quest for personal happiness and fulfillment. They believe in miracles not only for your skin but for hope and possibilities for this world. Philosophy became a household name when Oprah included their “Hope in a Jar” moisturizer on her very first “Favorite Things” show in 1996. Oprah included it again in 2010 on her list of her “Ultimate Favorite Things”.
My ultimate favorite Philosophy product is still the very first item I ever tried, the Cinnamon shower gel. It smells so yummy your entire bathroom will provide you with aromatherapy for hours … and you won’t even have to waste calories on an actual cinnamon bun!!
